Burning Man

By Marco Crisari

When 12,000 self-organising people travel to the middle of Black Rock Desert, Nevada, to camp in temperatures of about 107° Fahrenheit on the last weekend of summer, something culturally significant must be afoot. At once a techno-pagan festival, an art event, a rave and the ultimate alternative holiday, Burning Man has doubled in size each year and become the summer destination for wired Americans. Not surprisingly, it was broadcast over the Internet - head to www.istorm.com/burningman/onsite/video/index.html to experience it yourself.
