Japanese artist Yutaka Sone likes to walk the line between plausibility and absurdity. His performative video and photographic work The Artificial Lawn Performance documents his space journey to cover the far side of the Moon in astroturf. Space is becoming an increasingly domesticated part of our experience. Yone's piece renders lunar exploration kitsch, questioning the high seriousness with which we approach our technological fantasies.
